The manager has been consistently reported as being “busy in meetings” outside the office, and efforts to reach the Human Resource Assistant have also been fruitless. Alarmingly, the higher-ups at the office seem inaccessible, forcing media personnel to merely sign in at the security post without any substantive interaction.
This situation raises significant concerns regarding the treatment of media representatives and the underlying implications for free press in the region. The repeated dismissal of inquiries suggests a troubling pattern that could hinder journalistic integrity and the public’s right to information.
Moreover, the plight of daily laborers at PTPN IV adds another layer to this narrative. In informal discussions, workers have expressed their grievances about wages not meeting the established minimum wage standards (UMK), highlighting an atmosphere of discontent and lack of adequate support from their employer.
